This sample unit for U.S. History will focus on the Age of Jackson. In particular, this sample course will explore Jacksonian Democracy and the rise of the common man, the expansion of suffrage, the Nullification Crisis, and the Indian removal Act that led to the Trail of Tears. This instructional unit will also explore Henry Clay’s American System, the Second Great Awakening and its impact on social movements of this era. This unit will also explore the impact of slavery on American politics during this era.
