World History Course Description  

The learners will study historical patterns in world history to understand and evaluate change and diverse cultural perspectives.  The learners will  examine ancient cultures, classical institutions, world-wide organizational patterns as well as major historical conflicts.  The learners will also develop skills in historical comprehension, historical analysis, and cultural comparison andunderstanding.

The Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment eras.

Unit Six

 The Age of Exploration and colonial development.

Unit Seven

The rise of Empires, nation-states, the Industrial Revolution and the international market economy.

Unit Eight

The Age of Absolutism.

Unit Nine

 World War One- Causes and Consequences

Unit Ten

 The era between the World Wars

Unit Eleven

 World War Two- Causes, Conflicts, and Consequences.

Unit Twelve

The Cold War, Causes,Conflicts and Outcomes.

Unit Thirteen

 Post 1960’s Conflicts, Terrorism, Reform, and the rise of women as world and national leaders.
